Too Cute!!!!

Chris snapped this picture of Belle and Lady a few weeks ago. It's just too cute for words...they really do love each other, no matter how annoying Belle is :P

Busy-ness

School is back in full swing after the Fall Break the other week. I'm struggling a TON in my CS class - thank goodness I have Chris to help me. I'll be happy if I get a C in that class - seriously. Syntax is just a joke....it's hard and silly to me...but I go everyday so I don't miss anything. My Ancient Greek Philosophy class is HARD ASS! The professor is nit-picky about everything and I have to re-write the paper I just wrote the other week (we all have to re-write our papers). Then my Ethics class is ok....I will have a presentation to do in the coming weeks, but my article to present on is rather interesting. It is called "How psychopaths threaten moral rationalism: Is it rational to be amoral?" THIS is highly interesting and combines both my psychology coursework and philosophy. Over the next few weeks I am going to be focusing intensely on school.

Hangin' Tough!

Ok soooo....I was a New Kids on the Block fan back in the day. Not as much as my friend Stephanie was though...she had the New Kids dolls, posters, bed set and videos. We always were around New Kids stuff at her house. One 4th of July - in 1989 - we went as a family to Sugar House Park to watch the fireworks. During that time though, there was also a Disney special on TV celebrating the 4th. Mom recorded it for me and I LOVED it. I played that tape over and over again. I remember so much about it. At the beginning it had all these model ladies dancing around to Madonna's Vogue and Chris even remembers some Ninja Turtle segment. And then of course, there was this segment below:

I cannot even tell everyone how much I loved watching this. I seriously would watch these two songs over and over again. My favorite song was always Hangin Tough. And honestly, this junk was cool back then. Seriously...you all know it was. And now watching it I can't help but laugh. I think Jill, Steph and I may have to hit up the New Kids concert in a few weeks at the E Center. :P

Lady's Surgery

Lady had surgery yesterday. Yes, surgery. They do have to put dogs under anesthesia when they clean their teeth :( I haven't normally called her teeth cleanings surgery in the past, but this time it was. She had 2 cracked teeth - her two biggest molars in the back and they took both of them out. She also had another tooth with a major hole all the way down. They took that out too. I'm not sure when she cracked her teeth - she doesn't eat very hard things at all. During her last cleaning last year she didn't have cracked teeth - we're thinking it just might be her old age. She is 12 years old. She came out of the surgery VERY well...we've done more extensive surgery on her before and she's come out very sloth like...this time she was up and about. She has to eat wet food all week (yuck!). She slept good last night but this morning she seems a bit in pain. She is sitting here in the office with me making weird moaning noises. I did just give her the anti-biotics and pain meds the vet gave us. She has to get both of those twice a day. I wish I didn't have to go to work and school today...Chris and Ramin will have to take care of my Lady.

Fall Time Fun

Ramin, Chris, Taylor and I all headed out to Kennecott Copper Mine yesterday. We only live about 5 minutes away from it now - literally. I hadn't been there in about 20 years I'd guess and it has definitely changed quite a bit. It was very cool to go up there and check it out. We also spent a lot of time in their little museum thing and I even got some souvenirs from our trip. It was fun stuff! After the mine we all went up to This Is The Place Heritage Park to go through the Haunted Village. It was fun too but we didn't get any pictures. It was a great fall weekend and a great day to be outside!

View of the mine - apparently it's 2.5 miles across!

Their big machine that scoops away at the mountain

Each one of these big huge trucks has 6 of those huge tires!

For comparison, that's what a school bus looks like next to one of those huge trucks!

Ooooh Ooooh - WANT

So everyone knows that Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie - this is true. But I have 3 favorite characters of ALL time - of course there is Maleficent:

And then Lady Tremaine from Cinderella:

And then there is the Evil Queen from Snow White!

As I attempt to build up my Disney villian-esses collection I search eBay a lot looking for awesome items. I ran across this item today that I'd never seen before! MUST HAVE! Family - here's an idea for a Christmas gift! ;)

Here is the scene from the movie where it comes from. It's pretty much the only scene in Snow White that I care to watch - I can't handle the rest of the movie :P

Time Flies!

Ten Years Ago...

Was the middle of 1998...I was still living in Florida and I was working at Petsmart (loved that place so much!) and going to school at St. Pete High. Little did I know that a few months later, in December, I'd be moving back to Salt Lake and starting a whole new life again.

Five Years Ago...

Was 2003 and I'd been working at eBay for about 8 months. I was living at home with mom and she was still married to Kim. I wasn't doing much of anything other than working and hanging out with Lisa a lot.

Five Months Ago...

Was May and I was in the last weeks of my Spring semester taking Early Modern Philosophy, Deductive Logic, and Human Factors. That was a rough semester except for Human Factors. At work I was still on the Counterfeit Investigations Team working with Jonas. It was also right after my dad had visited us before he left for Kuwait.

Five Things To Do Tomorrow....
1. Go to work early with Ramin
2. Mail out another book I sold on Amazon.com
3. Feed the dogs
4. Make some dinner for the guys
5. Take Lady for a walk

Five Bad Habits...
1. I crack my bones...feet, knuckles, back
2. I pick my nose (only when no one can see me hahahaha)
3. I pick my scabs
4. I pick my head for no reason - it's like a nervous thing
5. I'm addicted to ice cream

Five Places I've Lived...
1. Utah - West Valley - in the awesome old neighborhood
2. Florida - Pinellas Park - with dad and stepmom
3. Utah - West Valley again - with the Smedley bunch
4. Philedelphia - while attending Drexel University (I HATE THAT CITY)
5. Utah - West Jordan - where we live now!

Five Things People Don't Know About Me...
1. I regret not heading to college right after high school.
2. The reason I love Disney so much is because I love the romance of it and I secretly want to live in a Disney world.
3. Ramin and I want to buy an RV, trail a motorcycle on it and ride across the country visiting all of the Nascar tracks and races once we retire.
4. It weirds me out seeing old friends from elementary school all grown up because a part of me will always think of them at the age I knew them because I left everyone after 7th grade.
5. I cry A LOT, especially during movies and during trailer previews and during commercials and I cry a lot in the car when I hear a sentimental or emotional song.

My Halloween Decor

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday and I love decorating for it. I didn't buy any new decorations at all this year because I just haven't had the time. Perhaps next year I'll get some more stuff now that I know where I can decorate in this house. I decided to put up some pictures of my decor cause it's kinda fun.

The Duchess

Mom and I saw this movie today. LOVED it...it's a DVD'er. I just can't get enough of historical period pieces, especially when they are tinged with a truth element, such as this one. I could watch movies like this ALL the time.I think of all of my favorite movies and they are either British or a period piece - put them together and it's even better!

eBay Cuts Jobs

In case none of you heard this yet, eBay cut about 1,000 jobs on Monday. Thankfully, Ramin and I were not on the chopping block, nor are we in any danger of being so. I know quite a few people who were let go up in Vancouver and I know of 2 here in Salt Lake. The majority of the layoffs were in Omaha, where PayPal is, and Vancouver I think. Earlier this year they cut about 125 jobs in San Jose. It's not boding well for our stock price :-/ Things are getting weird...I hope things don't recede any farther into the pit.

Frustrated

I'm really frustrated with my schooling right now. I really hate my CS class. Like REALLY badly. Tonight I was working on some review work - Chris was helping me, and I totally saved over it as my computer decided to freakishly shut down. I was so pissed and started crying. This coding crap is so hard for me and my mid-term is this week and I barely know anything about what I'm doing. I am so frustrated because they give so much work in that class - it's only a 1000 level - I spend more time doing this stupid stuff than I do on my important classes. I really hate it right now and I just cannot wait until this damn semester is over with. I am so done with school.

Audi Symphony - Again?

I posted this before, but I just had to watch it again. All week I have been thinking about it and had no time to sit and watch it again. Then last night, I had a dream about it. I was listening to some other song and in the background I could hear elements from this song...I think it is so brilliant how they incorporated the symphony into the video side of things. There are some other segments from the Audi Symphony online, but this song is by far the best (in my opinion). Just wanted to share it again :P (The first video isn't the best quality but it shows the entire song - the bottom video has the better video and sound quality)

2 Dogs and an Elephant

So I've been meaning to post some pictures this week and just found the time tonight to do it. Earlier this week I came home from work and found this "thing" sitting on the bathroom counter :P Ramin found somewhere on the internet how to make an elephant out of bath towels. He also dressed it up with my sunglasses and a necklace :P I love coming home to surprises and this was way cute!

The below pictures of the dogs were taken a few weeks ago. One morning Belle and Ramin just looked so cute lying in bed together that I had to take some pics. Belle really is a ham. And then Lady needed a picture too...she kinda looks like she's smirking hehe! Hope everyone likes the pictures!
